Gifted Mom is a Cameroon-based health-tech startup improving maternal and child health through mobile technology. The company was co-founded by Alain Nteff (CEO), Conrad Tankou, and Agbor Ashumanyi Ako to address high maternal and infant mortality in communities with limited access to reliable health information.

Using SMS, voice messaging, and mobile platforms, Gifted Mom delivers essential guidance to pregnant women and new mothers, including reminders for antenatal visits, vaccinations, nutrition, and postnatal care.
Technology Supporting Safer Pregnancies
The platform bridges the communication gap between healthcare providers and expectant mothers, particularly in areas with limited internet access.
Through basic mobile phones, Gifted Mom sends personalised health messages and appointment reminders while enabling women to connect with healthcare professionals.
The service has reached over 20,000 women, many in rural communities where access to maternal healthcare is most limited.
Growth, Rebranding & Global Recognition
As the company expanded beyond maternal messaging into broader digital health services, it rebranded to Healthlane in 2020 to reflect its growing focus on digital primary care.
The venture later raised $2.4 million in seed funding to scale its technology and expand access to healthcare.
Gifted Mom’s early innovation and impact also earned international recognition, including the Anzisha Prize and the World Summit Youth Award, highlighting its role in advancing technology-driven maternal healthcare across Africa.
