AI-Driven Solutions For The Logistics Sector

Updated: 4 days ago

Jetstream Africa, co-founded in 2018 by CEO Miishe Addy and COO Solomon Torgbor, is a Ghanaian digital freight forwarder transforming Africa’s e-logistics sector. Its mission is to simplify and grow supply chains by offering inventory-backed financing solutions, providing businesses with efficiency, visibility, and control over logistics operations. By leveraging technology, Jetstream optimizes cargo movement and facilitates smoother trade across African borders.

In February 2024, Jetstream Africa launched Jetvision.ai, an AI-powered platform designed to streamline cross-border trade. Building on the success of Jetvision 1.0—which increased monthly shipment volumes per customer by 44%—the new platform enhances process automation, document management, and trade finance. With AI-driven tools, it empowers Africa’s 50,000 freight forwarders and 2 million import-export businesses while collaborating with banks to offer trade finance, initially targeting West Africa.

Jetstream Africa’s impact is underscored by significant milestones and financial backing. In 2023, the company facilitated the logistics and financing of over 700 containers and secured $13 million in pre-Series A debt and equity funding to expand into new markets. Prior to this, Jetstream closed a $3 million seed round in 2021 to build digital infrastructure tailored to Africa’s trading environment. With plans to expand into 13 key African markets over the next two years, Jetstream is leading the digital freight forwarding industry by integrating AI to optimize logistics, financing, and business growth.
