MazaoHub is a Tanzanian agri-tech startup transforming smallholder and medium-scale farming through precision agriculture and climate-smart technology.

Co-founded by Geophrey Tenganamba (CEO of Mazao) and Adelard Josephat Urassa (CTO), the platform gives farmers access to AI-powered soil analytics, IoT sensors, climate data, and tailored agronomy recommendations.

Using MazaoHub’s low-cost soil testing kits and digital farm-management tools, farmers can track soil nutrients, moisture, and pH, then receive clear, actionable guidance for fertilizer use, irrigation, and crop planning.

MazaoHub’s strength lies in its hybrid “tech + touch” model. While its digital tools deliver real-time data and analytics, its network of Farmer Excellence Centres provides in-person agronomy support, access to inputs, and hands-on training.

This integrated approach has helped farmers reduce fertilizer waste by up to 30%, adopt organic manure at five times previous rates, and achieve measurable improvements in water efficiency and climate-smart practices.

By making science-driven farming accessible at village level, MazaoHub is directly improving yields, incomes, and environmental resilience.

In 2025, MazaoHub secured a US$2 million pre-seed round led by Catalyst Fund, with support from Nordic Impact Fund, Mercy Corps Ventures, and DOB Equity—accelerating its expansion across East Africa.

The company is scaling its Farmer Excellence Centres and growing CropSupply.com, its produce-sourcing marketplace that links verified farmers directly to buyers through traceable, contract-based supply chains.

While still young, MazaoHub is already recognized as one of the most promising climate-smart agri-tech startups on the continent, earning industry attention for its ability to turn data, sensors, and AI into practical tools that strengthen food security and farmer livelihoods across Africa.
