Green N Kool is a Madagascar-based social enterprise founded in 2016 in Nosy Be by Marie Christina Kolo (CEO), combining environmental action with community empowerment through innovative waste-recovery solutions. The venture focuses on collecting used cooking oil and transforming it into eco-friendly products such as no-rinse soaps and other zero-waste household items.

Alongside production, Green N Kool conducts sustainability workshops that train local communities in upcycling, waste reduction, and alternatives to single-use products, creating both environmental and livelihood impacts.
Green N Kool operates a structured collection system in which restaurants, households, and businesses donate used oil, which is then processed into sustainable consumer goods. Contributors earn points redeemable for eco-friendly products, encouraging participation and long-term behaviour change.
The company distributes its products through local retailers, supermarkets, and online channels, while partnering with community groups to promote a culture of zero waste and environmental responsibility.
Green N Kool has earned notable recognition for its environmental and social innovation. In 2018, its founder was named 2nd Runner-Up at the WWF Youth Africa Awards, followed by finalist recognition at the 2019 Southern Africa Startup Awards for Best Social Startup and Female Role Model of the Year.
In 2020, the company’s Alt. Soap project won Madagascar’s Hack the Crisis competition and placed 5th globally in the Environment category, underscoring Green N Kool’s growing influence in sustainable, community-led enterprise.
