WEAR Ghana, co-founded by Awura Abena Agyeman and Angorkor Nai-Kwade in 2013, is a Ghanaian fashion brand dedicated to celebrating African excellence through bold, contemporary clothing. Based in Accra, the brand blends traditional African textiles with modern design to create high-quality ready-to-wear collections for men, women, and children—including corporate uniforms. Initially focused on made-to-measure pieces, WEAR Ghana transitioned into ready-to-wear with support from the Africa Fashion and Textile Accelerator Network (Africa FAN), positioning itself as one of Ghana’s most aspirational homegrown labels. The brand’s ethos champions sustainable fashion, local craftsmanship, and female empowerment, with 90% of its workforce made up of women.
Since its founding, WEAR Ghana has attracted over 5,000 loyal customers and gained national and international recognition. Its collections—ranging from jackets and dresses to kaftans—have been worn by high-profile clients, including the U.S. Ambassador to Ghana. In 2024, it was ranked among the Top 25 Ghanaian Fashion Industry Powerlist by Nueva Comms and continues to align its impact with UN SDG Goals 5 and 8, promoting gender equality and decent work. The brand operates through its studio at Anigye House in Dzorwulu, serves global e-commerce clients, and supplies bulk orders to corporate partners, all while reporting an average annual revenue growth of 100%.
In May 2025, WEAR Ghana launched its “Republic of Africa” (ROA) collection to mark Africa Day, a Pan-African celebration of culture and unity supported by the Afrique Créative accelerator and iSpace Foundation. This milestone highlighted the brand’s expanding continental presence and commitment to social impact. With retail footprints in Ghana, South Africa, and Switzerland, WEAR Ghana continues to redefine modern African fashion—serving not just as a clothing brand, but as a movement celebrating African identity, creativity, and community on the global stage.
