eFiche is a Rwanda-based health-tech company modernising how patient information flows through the healthcare system. Founded by David Kamugundu, the platform was built to eliminate fragmented, paper-based medical records and replace them with secure, interoperable digital workflows.

eFiche digitises the entire patient journey, enabling paperless and cashless processes from registration through consultation and reporting, helping health facilities operate more efficiently while improving continuity of care.
What sets eFiche apart is its deep integration with Rwanda’s national digital health infrastructure. The platform is fully integrated with the country’s Health Management Information System (HMIS) and Health Information Exchange (HIE), ensuring seamless data flow across facilities and levels of care.
eFiche also contributes live data to the National Health Intelligence Centre, supporting real-time public health monitoring, planning, and evidence-based decision-making. This positions the company not just as a hospital software provider, but as a critical data backbone within Rwanda’s national health ecosystem.
eFiche’s impact is reflected in its scale: the platform has processed over 1.4 million consultations and manages 700,000+ patient records across 130+ healthcare facilities nationwide.
Its adoption by public and private health providers underscores trust in its reliability, security, and interoperability. Widely recognised within Rwanda’s digital health landscape, eFiche stands as a leading example of how locally built technology can support national health goals—demonstrating how data driven systems can transform healthcare delivery at scale.
